「いい名前を思いついたんだ。synker、これでいこう」
10年代が終わる頃、環七の片隅で弾き語りを終えたKay(Vo.Gt.)は、幼馴染のTee(Gt.)にこう言った。
ものの数日で5曲のデモを書き上げたKay。
その初期衝動に呼応するように、次第にメンバーが集まりスタジオに出入りするようになった。
その後、現メンバーのRay(Ba.)とSawai(Dr.)を迎え、2020年2月に下北沢GARAGEでの初ライブ、1stEP『synk you』のリリースを果たした。
以降、ブリットポップやオルタナに影響を受けたサウンドと、同時代のオリコンチャートを思わせるノスタルジックなメロディーが不思議な化学反応を生みだす、独自のスタイルを追求してきた。
2022年にはCoy(Vo.Key.)が加入し、バンドは完全体へ。
翌年リリースの1st Album『The Sound Of Getting By』では、クリエイションレコーズからインドのゴアを経由し、醤油ミュージック、はたまたカリブ海の風をも感じることができるトランスボーダーなポップスを表現した。
現在まで、都内のライブハウスを中心に活動中。
”天使の梯子"が舞い降りるがごとき、synkerが奏でる儚くも壮大な音楽に触れてみてほしい。

“I came up with a good name — let’s go with synker.”
In late 2010s Tokyo, Kay (Vo.Gt.) shared this with a friend from his school days, Tee (Gt.). Within days, Kay had written five demo tracks, drawing Tee, Ray (Ba.), and Sawai (Dr.) together to the rehearsal studio.
In February 2020, they played their first show at Shimokitazawa GARAGE and released their debut EP synk you. In 2022, Coy (Vo.Key.) joined, completing the band’s current lineup.
Synker blends Britpop, alternative, and nostalgic melodies reminiscent of the old Oricon charts, creating borderless pop that drifts between UK indie, Asian textures, and even hints of Caribbean breeze. Their music feels both fleeting and grand—like light pouring down from the distant sky.
