シューゲイズ・ドリームポップシーンで着実に評価を高める Moon In Juneで活動中のvo. & gt. mihoを中心に、4人で宅録によるリモート音源制作をおこなう。
メンバーはスピッツ、スーパーカー、くるり、GRAPEVINE、the brilliant green、JUDY AND MARYなどの邦楽、また海外のオルタナティブ・ロックから強く影響を受けている。
マイペースな活動ながらも毎年夏開催の自主企画「Sunday People Life」は大盛況を博している。
7月30日(水)、初のアルバム『Escape』を全国リリース。
結成後まもなくコロナ禍に突入し、宅録を中心にマイペースな制作を重ねてきた本バンドの 1st アルバムは、メンバー全員で編み上げた、瑞々しくも日々の暮らしに寄り添うようなポップスに仕上がっている。
レコーディングからミックス、マスタリングまで、すべての工程を各メンバーが自宅で行い、制作者の息遣いが感じられるような手作り感を大切にしている。
「音楽も、暮らしも、まだレポートの途中。」そんな気持ちで紡がれた音たち。
Vo・miho が人生ではじめて作詞作曲に挑戦したこのバンドは、どこか放課後のような、宿題の途中みたいな手探りのまま、今日も音を鳴らしている。
答えを急がない音楽。暮らしのとなりにある、Sunday Afternoon Pop。

Sunday Student is a home-recording band led by miho (vo./gt.) from Moon In June, who has been gaining steady recognition in the shoegaze and dream pop scene.
Formed during the pandemic in 2020, the band’s four members draw inspiration from Japanese artists like Spitz, Supercar, Quruli, GRAPEVINE, the brilliant green, JUDY AND MARY, and from overseas alternative rock.
Their long-awaited debut album “Escape” will be released on Wednesday, July 30th.
Fully self-produced at home — from recording to mixing and mastering — it’s a collection of warm, handmade pop songs that quietly accompany everyday life.
“Music and life — still somewhere in the middle of a report.”
This is where it all began: miho’s very first attempt at writing lyrics and songs.
A band that keeps adding sounds, like unfinished homework on a Sunday afternoon.
