Kingston, Jamaica native Mark Wolfe is known as the humorous dancehall deejay Tanto Metro -- named as such for his early alliance with the Metromedia sound system. Prior to releasing his first solo album, Wolfe recorded numerous singles dating back to the mid-'80s for labels like Shelter Rock, Dennis Star, and, most prominently, Shocking Vibes. Ratings, his full-length debut, was released on VP in 1995, filled out with guest appearances from Beenie Man, Little Lenny, and Bajie Man. Wolfe subsequently linked with vocalist King Jammy associate Wayne Passley, aka Devonte, as Tanto Metro & Devonte. The duo released albums like Everyone Falls in Love (1999), The Beat Goes On (2001), Musically Inclined (2006), and Most Wanted (2009), but they were far more active in the singles market through the mid-2010s. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
