Taryn Southern is an artist and technologist with more than 700 million online views. One of the earliest creators on YouTube, she’s now pioneering a new movement - the future of AI-composed music. Taryn’s pop single “Break Free” is the first song ever composed and produced using artificial intelligence to hit the Top 100 radio charts (Mediabase, June 2018.)
In addition to her upcoming AI album, Taryn is currently co-directing/producing a documentary on the future of man and machine and recently released the world’s first token (Song Token) to enable artists to share royalties with their fans. She has guest starred on dozens of television shows, hosted several music-related series and specials (The American Music Awards, The Grammy’s, The X Factor, and her own weekend countdown show for Sirius XM’s “The Pulse). In 2013, her song (“Crush”) landed on the Mediabase Top 200 and she was featured as a new and noteworthy artist by Billboard.
Taryn’s background in music began at the age of ten, when she composed her first song using freeware MIDI software. She taught herself basic code and began creating and editing videos with her dad’s old Panasonic VHS camera. In 2007, Taryn uploaded her first music video to YouTube. The song went viral, and Taryn continued making videos - more than one thousand videos over the course of a decade. She has performed at VidCon, Google’s AI Summit, The NY Times AI Conference, Web Summit, The Next Web, and Near Future Festival.
