Tasha's World

Tasha's World is the stage name of Rotterdam-based singer Natascha Slagtand, whose musical roots are steeped in Jazz and Soul. Raised in a musical family, Tasha’s sound is influenced by legends like Billie Holiday, EW&F, Curtis Mayfield, Donny Hathaway, and Quincy Jones. In 2001, she released her self-titled album in Japan through Avex, followed by a European release in 2002 via Dome Records. The album received widespread acclaim and was celebrated as one of the best albums of the year, earning recognition as "one of the best albums to ever come out of the Netherlands."
Tasha has received several prestigious awards, including the Essent Award (2002) and the Silver Harp (2003). Her musical journey has taken her around the globe, performing at well-known venues across Europe, Africa, the U.S., and beyond.
In 2013, Tasha returned with BLCK GLD (Black Gold), marking her comeback after a five-year break. Though she eventually withdrew the album, it signaled her evolution as an artist.
Tasha’s latest single, Ready to Fall, produced by Mike Daley and featuring flutist Ronald Snijders, introduces the Fear of Rejection project. This intimate, vulnerable track explores letting go and embracing personal growth, signaling a transformative phase in her career and connecting with fans on a deeper level.
