TEKE::TEKE is a Montreal-based Japanese psych-rock band composed of guitarists Sei Nakauchi Pelletier & Hidetaka Yoneyama, flutist Yuki Isami and visual artist and vocalist Maya Kuroki, with an added rhythm section for live events.
Fresh from soundtracking the record breaking new Assassin’s Creed video game, ‘Shadows’, TEKE::TEKE return with a deluxe edition of their acclaimed 2023 album Hagata. The digital album features five reinterpretations of songs from the album including remixes by Holy Fuck and SUUNS plus a brand new track. A limited edition vinyl release is also available, containing these and four additional Hagata-era tunes, available on vinyl for the first time.
Featuring traditional Japanese instruments and flute alongside raging guitars and a pulsing rhythm section, TEKE::TEKE creates a sound reminiscent of 1960s and ‘70s era psychedelic Japanese soundtracks, with an experimental approach and a frenetic, modern twist.
