Terra Nova are Lee Macey & Kym Blackman two thirds of Station Island. When they found themselves with some downtime they decided to put together a concept album drawing from their shared love of progressive rock. The result was Terra Nova, an album following Captain Scott on his ill-fated race to the South Pole. The pair shared all vocal, instrument and writing duties, resulting in a ecclectic mix of styles, pulling influences from Jethro Tull, Yes, Rush and early Genesis.
Silver Ride took a new tack with Kym taking care of all the vocals and Lee concentrating on all instruments. The album started as a story with all the words written by Kym first the music then written between the two of them, bending the music to the theme and emotion of the words. The result an exhilarating soundscape following a disillusioned astronaut through the vastness of space.
