The Arrleys began in the 80's with brothers John & Josh from Provo, Utah visiting their cousin Ben in Park City, as kids, lip syncing to The Beach Boys with tennis racquets for guitars.
Ben was the first to get an actual electric guitar & moved the trio forward in their early teens. In Jr High they enlisted their best friend Colby Stead to lock in the beat. Colby bought a drum kit & gave the band a solid rhythm to build on. The 4 piece released their first EP as teenagers with HYTYDE.
After 2 years of growing musically, now heavily influenced by The Beatles, Colby moved on to be in a Grunge band with some high school friends.
The Arrleys somehow convinced John & Josh's older sister's boyfriend, Ralphy Driggs, to join them on their musical journey. Ralphy's positive energy & showmanship was powerful & lifted the band to bigger & better shows in Salt Lake City. The success of their first LP, What's With You, encouraged the group to spread their wings & fly to Hawaii in the fall of '95 where they continued to dial in their sound. Island Fever set in so they turned their sights to the UK & flew off to be the next Beatles.
Upon Landing at Gatwick International, with one way tickets, drums, amps & guitars, they were promptly detained, interrogated & deported back to the USA. They lived in the Newark Airport for a week as they plotted their next move.
Trading a Blonde ES335 for an old van, they headed South to Nashville, TN where they made their final LP, Delicious, in 1996.
