The Boxer Rebellion is an international indie rock band formed in London in 2001, featuring Tennessee-born Nathan Nicholson (vocals, guitar, keyboards) alongside English musicians Adam Harrison (bass), Piers Hewitt (drums) and Andrew Smith (lead guitar), who joined the band following the departure of TBR's original guitarist Todd Howe.

Known for their atmospheric post-rock textures and anthemic songwriting, the band quickly gained recognition for their emotive sound and dynamic live performances. Emerging during the post-Britpop era, they achieved breakthrough success in 2009 with Union, one of the first self-released digital albums to break into the UK Albums Chart—solidifying their reputation as pioneers of independent music. Describing the band’s impact, NME declared, “This band can alter your life.”

As of 2025, The Boxer Rebellion has released seven studio albums and continues to sell out headline shows across Europe, North America, and beyond. Staying true to their independent roots, they consistently push creative boundaries, captivating audiences with their soaring melodies and deeply resonant lyricism. Their 8th Studio Album 'The Second I'm Asleep' is out March 27th 2026.
