Evocative country-soul from Portland. New album The Set Up (out March 6 2026) sees The Delines dive deeper into cinematic stories of heartbreak, fate and late-night lives.

The Delines are one of the most evocative and cinematic bands in modern Americana — a country-soul outfit built around the world-weary, heart-stopping voice of Amy Boone and the storytelling of novelist and songwriter Willy Vlautin.

Formed when Vlautin secretly wrote Boone a year’s worth of songs after hearing her sing one ballad, the band — with Sean Oldham, Freddie Trujillo and Cory Gray — have carved a distinct sound of horns, pedal-steel and late-night soul. Vlautin’s acclaimed fiction shapes their signature cast of drifters, dreamers and wounded hearts.

Following The Imperial and The Sea Drift, The Delines return with The Set Up, a cinematic new album following a chain of characters pulled into crime, consequence and bad luck. Warm analog production, hushed horns and Boone’s intimate vocals make it their most story-driven work yet.
