CELEBRATING TWENTY YEARS OF #RATSSTYLE IN JANUARY 2025.
The Distillery Rats, an explosive mixture of hard liquor and hot live shows, are definitely not what you’d expect of a Swabian folk punk band. The singing, dancing and drinking crowd of their last show would be able to describe them if they only didn’t blackout. It’s not even that their combination of solid punk rock, danceable rock ’n’ roll, accordion, banjo and mandolin isn’t memorable – no – it’s just an unbelievable party which is getting people into Irish drinking conventions. So, beware! If The Distillery Rats will come to your town sometime you better lock your fine whiskeys and be ready for a hell of a party!
On their first album “Tales from County Whiskey” The Distillery Rats tell stories about triumph and defeat, love and loss, joy and grief, the good and bad sides of boozing. After a dozen years of making music they bring tales to life that could only happen in County Whiskey. From solemn ballads to dancing tunes they present their own songs as well as some newly interpreted Irish traditional. This album is made of love for folk, punk and rock ‘n’ roll, party mood and whiskey-soaked melancholy.
