The Duke of Norfolk is the recording project of Oklahoma-born peripatetic folk musician <a href="spotify:artist:1WnOUJC8lcTixb0ASPP4Ry" data-name="Adam Thomas Howard">Adam Thomas Howard</a>. Inspired early on by Irish traditional music, bluegrass, and the London-based folktronic band <a href="spotify:artist:6k8oBFzievbIn6XJK0pDpa" data-name="Tunng">Tunng</a>, Howard moved to Edinburgh in 2015 to study Sound Design, where his music began to nestle somewhere between traditional folk instrumentation and modern electronic folk.
Howard currently resides and records in Paris where he’s had the privilege of collaborating closely with Kate Stables (<a href="spotify:artist:0ZUyFEafMwocvApBjTXvdo" data-name="This Is The Kit">This Is The Kit</a>) and Ben <a href="spotify:artist:2FgekNPGl0B24db4ss9jQ5" data-name="LANZ">LANZ</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:2cCUtGK9sDU2EoElnk0GNB" data-name="The National">The National</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4MXUO7sVCaFgFjoTI5ox5c" data-name="Sufjan Stevens">Sufjan Stevens</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6pmxr66tMAePxzOLfjGNcX" data-name="Beirut">Beirut</a>). He released a Scottish folk inspired EP, Golden Light & Thistle, late in 2023 heavily featuring Stables and worked with Lanz on his soon-to-be-released full-length album Non-Hypnotised Man as a Camera.
