The Excitements were born in Barcelona in 2009, founded by Adria Gual and Daniel Segura.
Very soon they start touring, both nationally and internationally, especially in Europe where they have a very good reception from both the critics and the public, becoming a reference in the european soul scene.
During their career they have released five albums, three with Barcelona independent label Penniman Records, one with Satélite K and one with Adrià Gual's new label, Hoot Records. They have also appeared on compilations in Spain, France and the UK.
During 2019 the band is restructured, Daniel Segura quit the music business and the French singer of Somali origin Kissia San becomes the new frontwoman.
They have played in emblematic stages such as: Fete de l'Humanité, Paleo Festival, Shambala Fest, Jazzablanca, Montreal Jazz Festival , Couleur Cafe, Fusion Festival, Carthage Jazz Festival, London Blues Festival, Jazzaldia Festival , Festival de Peralada, Sonorama, The Royal Albert Hall, Jazz Cafe, O2, New Morning, Paradiso or Palac Akropolis.
They have had monographic shows on TVE (Los Conciertos de Radio3), WDR (Rockpalast), Canal+ France (Album de la semaine) and in the French-German platform ARTE. Played in TV shows as Andrew Marr Show (BBC), En el aire (La Sexta), Pop Rapid (TV3) or Quotidien (TF1) among others.
Their music appears in films such as the Spanish productions Tasting Menu and, Societat Negre and, the American blockbuster Crazy Rich Asians.
