1984 - Three guys who know each other from school make their highly acclaimed debut as a rockabilly trio - the evening ends in complete frenzy for everyone involved. The Stray Cats' song about a crazy motor freak inspires the three of them to come up with their name: THE HOT ROD GANG. 40 years later, they are still rockin' regardless of short-lived trends and with their original line-up.
Although inspired by the American music culture of the 1950s, the Hot Rods are not style clones. Rather, the trio rearranges old themes, makes use of winking at classics from the 1960s to the 1980s, creating their very own signature sound, a crazy mix of sweat-inducing rock'n'roll and rockabilly, dusty country rockers and rhythm & blues.
The Hot Rod Gang are celebrating their 40th Anniversary with their new album CAN U DIG IT? coming up in 2025 on vinyl, CD and streaming services.
