Dreamy, cathartic and instantly catchy, Singaporean indie-rock quartet The New Modern Lights craft a soundtrack to adolescent life, love and heartbreak.
Led by vocalist-guitarist Darius Oon alongside Adriel Ong (bass), Doran Oon (synths) and Ethan Hariyono (guitars), The New Modern Lights marry lyrical storytelling with sparkling melodies to a backdrop of ethereal, melancholic textures - possessing a nostalgic sound reminiscent of bands like The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and Yuck.
The band released their debut EP 'The Distance Between Us' in 2021, in turn winning 'Single Of The Year (Rock)' at the annual Singapore Youth Music Awards for their song 'Bones'.
They plan to build on their live and studio sound with the release of their eponymous debut album due in 2023.
