The Nor’easters are Northeastern University’s premier all gender a cappella group. As the oldest group on campus, the Nor’easters continuously strive to maintain the highest standard of musicality while still keeping the fun and love alive. They heavily influenced the reinvention of the modern style of a cappella as one of the pioneers of the “wall of sound”.
They received 1st place in the 2023 scholastic competition at Boston Sings (BOSS). They were also the 2019 champions at the National A Cappella Convention (NACC), as well as the 2013 and 2017 champions at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA). The Nor’easters have performed in various places including the UK, China, and Australia, and have recently performed at the White House in December of 2022. They were also the feature group on the first season of PopTV’s docu-series, “Sing It On" in 2015.
