“Positive, well-crafted pop music from Germany. Folky, sensitive and splendid. The time was right for such a calibre in this country. ”- Musix Magazin
The story begins in September 2015 when singer-songwriter Johannes “Jojo” Stang posted his first self-produced music videos on social networks. These drew the attention of other musicians and a band project was formed. The band’s first appearances followed only a few months later. In addition to Jojo (guitar, vocals), Michael Simon (drums) was one of the first Rehats. They were later joined by lead guitarist Max Steffens and Nadine Traoré (bass and vocals), who became an integral part of the quartet.
Since then, the band have toured their optimistic sound regularly through clubs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and have performed at major festivals such as the renowned Chiemsee Festival and the Lörracher Voices Festival. The response from their audience proves that there is still a need for authentic, hand-made music. You don't have to “constantly reinvent the wheel”. It feels equally good to stick to the tried and tested and take it on to the next level.
Their debut album was produced in Cologne at Wolfgang Stach’s Maarweg 2 Studio. Wolfgang has previously worked with “Jupiter Jones” and “BAP” and has already been awarded gold and platinum for his productions.
