The Station Hotel Orchestra is a music project, an outiet for the songs of David Owen Smith.

David began his career in the duo Fandango, played briefly in The Banned, later performed as a solo artist and moved on to be one half of The Spacewalkers. In between he composed and performed the title theme music for Hartbeat, the BBC TV series featuring the artist, Tony Hart, and composed the title music for The World Pool Championships for Channel 5 TV. He also co-wrote the theme song for Captain Zep, BBC TV which was released as a 45 rpm vinyl single.

His current music with TSHO has been described as ‘New Nostalgia’ and 'Quadrophenia for hippies' and harks back to his admiration for The Beatles, The Moody Blues, The Small Faces, The Who, The Kinks, Cream, Jethro Tull, David Bowie, The Police and The Pretenders.
