The Unguided is a Swedish melodic metal band, formed in 2010 by Richard and Roger Sjunnesson, alongside Roland Johansson, all former members of Sonic Syndicate. Richard’s departure from Sonic Syndicate due to creative differences led the trio to reunite and create The Unguided, aiming to blend heavy melodies with aggressive metal influences. Their debut album, Hell Frost (2011), quickly made waves in the scene with tracks like "Phoenix Down" and "Betrayer of the Code." The album was praised for its mix of catchy melodies, growling vocals, and intricate guitar work, solidifying the band's presence in melodic metal.

The band continued their momentum with Fragile Immortality (2014), further showcasing their signature blend of melody and intensity. With the departure of Johansson and the introduction of Jonathan Thorpenberg on vocals and guitar, the band evolved further, releasing albums such as And The Battle Royale (2017) and Father Shadow (2020). Fan favorites like "Nighttaker," "Legendary," and "Seth" helped expand their audience and cement their reputation.

Known for their personal and fantasy-driven themes, The Unguided crafts immersive stories within their albums, a trait that has garnered a dedicated fanbase. Despite lineup changes, the band continues to push boundaries, blending metal with electronic elements and mixing extreme and clean vocals. Through their captivating live shows and modern sound, The Unguided remains a powerful force in the Swedish metal scene.
