Born in the grey glow of Ireland’s south coast, This, That & the Other emerged not from a plan, but from a series of late-night voice notes, broken pedals, and half finished demos that somehow all made sense
together.
Their sound lives between shoegaze and indie rock, somewhere where reverb feels like memory and
distortion feels like release. You might hear echoes of Slowdive, Placebo, or Verve, but what comes
through most is the feeling of being cracked open by something both intimate and loud.
Fronted by Saoirse Millard, whose raw vocals and guitar work cut straight through the fog, and grounded
by the dense textures and ambient instincts of José Perdomo, producer, mixer, and reluctant perfectionist. The band’s heartbeat is locked in by drummer Ciarán Fitzpatrick, bringing just enough chaos to keep
things human.
Their debut single Career Break (2023) introduced their fascination with burnout, bodies, and the mess
between. Idiot Proverbs (2024) followed with sharper teeth and stranger dreams. Now, with their debut
album Fishbowl World set for release in Autumn 2025, they’re digging deeper into themes of self-erasure, mental health, imposter syndrome, and the claustrophobia of modern life, all wrapped in shimmering layers of noise and honesty.
