Born in the middle of Bangalore, India, Tillapes consists of Doc.Awes, Soorya Praveen, Sange Wangchuk, Philip John, Gautam David and Hanumankind.With a knack for performing Hip-Hop and Neo-soul, they draw from the influences of J Dilla, Anderson Paak and Red Hot Chili Peppers, keeping a focus on catchy melodies and lyrics, backed by some thumping low-end and resulting grooviness.
Having checklisted of the major Festivals in India such as NH7 Weekender (for the second time), headlining the Swiggy Steppin Out carnival- Bangalore and Oasis at BITS Pilani- Rajasthan, T.illapes also made their debut at the 2022 editions of Echoes of Earth- Bangalore, Magnetic Fields-Rajasthan and the Dambuk Orange festival-Arunachal Pradesh, followed by electric performances at Lollapalooza-Mumbai and Vh1 Supersonic-Pune.
The Apes are now out with ‘Sit Back’, an anthem of sorts that features the honeyed vocals of Mary Ann Alexander.
Expect lots of new tunes in the months to come.
