Timewaves

For many years the norwegian metal act Timewaves have been blazing mercilessly away in the norwegian undergound, playing metal music while also daring to push the boundaries and think outside the metal box. The band was founded in 2010 under the name Remorse Is For The Dead by guitarist Kåre Magnus and vocalist Espen. Later the same year guitarist Ola, drummer Simen and bassist Joachim joined the band. Their sound was originally a lot more «heavy metal» oriented, and they quickly decidied to change their music closer to «death metal».

Their first EP, «Recreation», was released in 2012 and was received very well by the Norwegian underground. With the succesfull release followed a great number of shows and the band started to gain attention. They later decided to change their name to «Timewaves» in 2014, because the band wanted a name that didn't sound like a typical metalband, and released their second EP «Malady» that same year. Because of their energetic and powerfull liveshow, Timewaves was picked to represent Norway on the infamous «Wacken Festival» in 2014. They playd a lot of shows in Norway the following year, and started in 2015 to work on their upcoming album «Resilience». The new drummer Simon joined the band before they started writing the album.
