It all starts in Jamaica where Mark Ainsworth aka Top Secret Music was born May 1967, Kingston. In the mid 80’s Mark started out as a DJ, aka Markie Rankin, exploding venomous lyrics alongside Lecturer, Captain Barky, & Professor Knots. Mark sees the opportunity to become a Selector, Sound engineer, Songwriter, Producer & instrumentalist. His uncle Chaka provides him with the Track Star Sound System, Studio & recording label.
Mark’s skill & talent started to attract 80's & 90's DJs like <a href="spotify:artist:6UuT0BJZ9vF8Y1sxXnJl2s" data-name="Bounty Killer">Bounty Killer</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4wLAjfeqAsV66AocWNcowA" data-name="Buju Banton">Buju Banton</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1Oq1UznFoef8kJK0c57xIF" data-name="Terror Fabulous">Terror Fabulous</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:3j7Sw80qzL2FJlryUhI3wG" data-name="Shabba Ranks">Shabba Ranks</a> ,Macka B & <a href="spotify:artist:4L3GTE04bW5N7azA9QPhjA" data-name="Beenie Man">Beenie Man</a> even the great legendary <a href="spotify:artist:1TsG4AumsMt1Tcq2nHpov9" data-name="Lee "Scratch" Perry">Lee "Scratch" Perry</a> Situated in Washington Gardens visited & encouraged Top Secret Music.
Mark steadfastly became popular in the Reggae Dancehall fields hanging with Lenky, Jimmy Cliff’s son & Noel Parks, son of Lloyd Parks.
Lloyd parks gave more exposure to Mark, by giving him outdoor P.A work, as in the flamboyant Reggae Sun splash and Sting working with artist such as: Gregory Issacs, Dennis Brown, Freddie McGregor, John Holt, Mighty Diamonds, Ken Booth Marcia Griffiths, Dawn Pen & many more.
Nevertheless Mark also gave extra spare time to leading producers like Earl from Aquarius Records with Charmaine label, Devon ‘D’, from ‘Peoples Records’ & Bunny Diamonds of Bad Gong label.
