Torchia from Tampere, Finland have been refining their dark and aggressive blend of melodic death metal since their inception in the early 2010s. By actively touring both Finland and abroad, Torchia has gained reputation for their explosive live shows, spearheaded by their masked front figure Nox.
When it comes to ‘melodic death metal’, Torchia places strong emphasis on ‘death’, both musically and thematically. Songwriter and guitarist Ville Riitamaa writes desperate tales of sorrow and mythology into Torchia’s own dark fantasy.
The band’s 2017 debut ‘Of Curses and Grief’ got praised for its thrash influenced old school melodeath. Since their debut, Torchia has evolved a darker and more modern sound while staying true to their death metal roots.
