Producer, multi-instrumentalist and synth-fanatic Orson Wouters also known as Transistorcake is a bit of a musical octopus. As a producer and mixer he worked with a wide variety of artists like Lili Grace, Wanthanee, Caspar Auwerkerken, Yokocho, De Mens and And Then Came Fall. Besides, he’s a forming member of the eclectic pop band Sleepers’ Reign and more recently teamed up with Aili Maruyama to form the Japanese-Belgian electro-pop duo named Aili. With Aili he released the well received Dansu EP in 2021 and hit the road in Europe and Japan.
Having a special attraction towards analog synths, Orson’s solo work as Transistorcake is mostly instrumental electronic music ranging from hazy tunes with often a dreamy undertone all the way to straightforward four-to-the-floor acid jams, but always with an organic feel. After his debut with “Mr. Croissant Taker” on Soulwax FM in GTAV, he released the 4 track “Future Plans” EP in 2019 and later on in 2020 a cocktail themed “Cocktail EP” via Eskimo Recordings. As Transistorcake he did remixes for acts like Compact Disk Dummies and Tukan and went live accompanied by Wouter Van Asselbergh (Shht, Tsar B) on drums and Xavier Declercq (Ivy Falls, Noemie Wolfs, Lagüna) on bass.
