Norwegian singer-songwriter Unnveig Aas has over the last couple of years sung her way into the hearts of many with her striking voice and distinctive musical style. When Unnveig sings she reveals a unique capability to convey feelings that seems to come from a place of real solitude.
Her music is filled with contrasts. It is quiet and enclosed, but also at times beat driven and catchy. With inspiration from country, pop, classic rock and folk she experiments with open guitar tunings, steel guitar and synths, creating a sound that stands out in the Norwegian music scene.
For Unnveig lyrics are important. With a master's degree in literature and library science she has, alongside three albums, also published two poetry books on Flamme Forlag. Her songwriting is marked by the same sharp eye and lyrical depth as her poetry – capturing raw moments and deep feelings.
Her second album “Young Heart” was nominated for a Norwegian Grammy (Spellemann). And during By:larm festival 2016, she was granted a scholarship for promising new artist. She has toured all over Norway, as well as in Sweden, Denmark and Germany – and is known to make her audience both cry, laugh and dance.
