Vetkuk real name Jotham Mbuyisa a half of Dj Vetkuk Vs Mahoota, was born at Baragwanath hospital in Diepkloof (Soweto), then raised in his parent’s house in Zone 6 (Meadowlands). Started djying at an early age of 10 years old at his parent’s home gatherings. Started music and sound hire business in the hood in the early 90's. Started doing mix tapes culture to push the dj brand and keep up with vinyl collection. @Vetkuk went to become one of the most Prominent Djs, playing sets at night clubs and outdoor venues. That led to him meeting up with Sprikiri, who later introduced to Mahoota. Dj Vetkuk Vs Mahoota Duo was established in 2001, have been pushing strong till date. Released 8 gold and platinum status studio albums, plus multiple chart toping platinum certified singles. Including Via Orlando (Remake) x Ziwa Murtu x Stokvel x Ha Omorata x Bula Nthweo (feat. Jelly Babie, Xduppy, Uncool MC & Ricky Lenyora) ” DJ Maphorisa x Mshana Ka Malume (feat. 2woshort, Mark Khoza & Vulela Maweekend).
