After meeting in Colorado, Viv (Katherine Viviano) and Steve (Stephen Coakley) etched their way into the music industry with Viv’s vocal prowess and Steve’s melodious songwriting + piano playing. Both these things combined earned them a strong following upon the release of their first single, “Maybe It’s You.” The duo separately spent their college days studying musical theatre in the Midwest – Viv at Millikin University and Steve at Ohio Northern University. Along with their musical theatre background, their tunes are inspired by the pop/soul/jazz/R&B fusion of greats like Carole King, Lake Street Dive, Maroon 5, Jason Mraz and Mariah Carey.
Their sophomore project & newest singles, “One of A Kind” & “So Soon,” (2020) were recorded at Gravity Studios and co-produced by Grey Taxon, Doug McBride and Viv & Steve themselves.
Their debut EP, Missed Out On Me (2019) features a collection of songs exploring the vulnerability of young adulthood. From the strut-your-stuff confidence of “Missed Out on Me” to the coffeehouse easy-listening sounds of “Kiss Me” and “Call You Mine,” the duo is sure to deliver a diverse variety of fresh pop.
