Xenoula is the alias of Romy Xeno, a songwriter and performer whose eccentric indie electronica embraces both spontaneity and reliable beats. Having spent most of her youth in South Africa, Xeno was influenced early on by the grassroots music of nearby villages as well as by the local ecosystem. She turned to music as a means of expression after relocating to the U.K. at the age of 16 and being confronted with a more densely populated, material environment. Eventually settling in northern Wales, she crafted a sound that surrounds her whimsical vocal delivery with an experimental blend of pastoral and synthetic sounds. Her eponymous debut was issued by Weird World in 2017 and featured production and mixing by LA Priest (aka Samuel Eastgate, aka Sam Dust). ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
