it makes sense that indie alt/grunge rock band yeah, sure is based out of florida. “the sunshine state” is associated with everything from beachy paradise to bath salt-ingesting face-eaters, palm trees and gators to sweat-drenched tourists chomping on roided-out turkey legs. “that contrast of something pretty with messed up stuff going on under the surface is an oddly good description of our sound,” says vocalist Alex Knight. yeah, sure blends the energy and melodic influence of 90s alt/grunge with a dissonant take on 60s pop/psychedelic rock-inspired harmonies.
“a lot of artists daydream about headlining festivals, and we do too,” Knight continues, “but more often we find ourselves talking about how awesome it’d be to travel back to the 90s, turn on MTV late at night, and hear Beavis and Butthead call one of us an ass-munch. that’s our daydream.” yeah, sure’s new single “bunk beds” is out now.
