Yoshizawa is a Leeds based experimental post-prog band based in Leeds, UK, with a focus on idiosyncratic composition and authentic performances. They connect with audiences via a dichotomy of highly structured, complex themes and atmospheric - entirely improvised - passages.
Drawing on influences as wide as Sons of Kemet, Deerhoof & Kim Gordon, Yoshizawa is a truly fresh sound comprised of drums, guitar, flute (with FX), and a wall of synthesisers. Bandleader and drummer Amelie Yoshizawa writes hauntingly beautiful scores straight into DAWs, and then presents her ideas to the rest of the band who are tasked with digesting and unifying the material into their final form.
