Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Yota moved to Paris in 2011. She first worked in electronic music in collaboration with respected producer Zoo Brazil before working with a host of renowned producers, including Lifelike, Alan Braxe, Zoo Brazil, Håkan Lidbo, John Dahlbäck, Demon, Stonebridge, DJ DLG and Redroche, to name a few. She has released on quality labels including Nervous Records, Vulture, and Junior Boy's Own, as well as releases on the seminal Strictly Rhythm label in 2012 as one-half of Mauvais Cliché. She is also one-half of Frankfurt Express, which released an album in 2018.
Yota’s first solo album was ‘Knight In Shining Armour’, released to critical acclaim on Lifelike’s Computer Science label. She was subsequently signed to New York-based NRW Records and released her albums, ‘Strangers On Film’ (2019), ‘Hazy Paradise’ (2020), ‘Lucid Dreams’ (2021), and ‘Room 412’ (2023). Her brand-new album, ‘The Touch,’ is due for release on NRW Records in November 2025.
