Yoyo Michael aka THE AFRICAN GOSPEL QUEEN is a singer, song writer, performing artist, dancer and a content creator who hails from Isoko south, Delta state Nigeria. Born into a family of four, she is the first child of Bishop Mike and Faith Okpokpor. A graduate of accounting from Benson Idahosa university, Yoyo went straight into content creation for companies after her graduation.Yoyo started singing in the choir when she was 8 years old and went ahead to join the adult choir before she was 10 because of her vocal prowess at that young age. She recorded her first song in 2006 and went ahead to win so many singing and dance competitions while in school.Yoyo started music professionally in 2013 when she recorded her first single AMEN. The song went ahead to win gospel song of the year at the south south music awards and she has been a voice to reckon with since then.
Known for her unique and sweet energetic Afrocentric sound. She describes herself as “As The African Gospel Queen” and her music is for the young and young at heart.
She has been featured by top gospel DJs in Nigeria in the likes of Dj Enersty and Dj Gosporella and these songs are making the rounds on Trace gospel, soundcity, hiptv and other top streaming platforms.
With her dreams of taking her unique gospel sound all over the world, Yoyo has released a couple of songs that is rocking the airwaves and is popular in the gospel industry like Jirie, zion, ekun ayo, say amen and others.
