Since her debut release in 2019, Yushh’s music has found a home on labels such as Rhythm Section and Well Street Records. Her debut EP Look Mom No Hands, released on Wisdom Teeth and was tipped by publications such as Resident Advisor and Mixmag, and inspired comparisons to Peverelist (Crack Mag) and Aphex Twin (The Quietus).

Her dubbed-out, atmospheric compositions are unmistakable. Focusing primarily on sound system-indebted low ends and phantasmic melodic details, they give the illusion of infinite layers of sound; like we’re hearing her experiments in real time. Her obsession with sound design is palpable.

As well her intricate curation of homegrown, emerging talent, her label Pressure Dome enriches the local scene through unmissable parties played by the likes of VOAM mainstays Pariah and Rhyw and New York’s DJ Python plus a residency on Bristol's Noods Radio.

Yushh’s DJ career has taken her all round Europe, seeing her share bills with Livity Sound legends Pinch and Hodge, and other trusted names such as Overmono, Djrum and Simo Cell. A recent Crack Mag mix was named ‘Mix Of The Day’ by RA who described it as “ultra-deep, plenty dubby, percussively unpredictable and surprisingly intricate”.

Yushh is carving out a distinct space for her weird, wonky sound; at times drawing on influences across the hardcore continuum, and at others offering a gentle, contemplative respite. One thing is certain, though: her music’s mind-bending capacity remains consistently intact.
