Zak Williams & 1Akord (ZW1A) are a Philadelphia-based choir with bounce! Founder and front-man Zak Williams created the group in 2003 and developed a dynamic vocal choir with a pristine and unrestricted delivery. Zak has led the group to win two Rhythm Of Gospel Awards for Contemporary Choir of The Year and Community Choir Of The Year, and a 2020 Stellar
Award nomination for Contemporary Choir of the Year.
Choirmaster Zak Williams and his vocally commanding singers returned seven years after their independent albums THE DECLARATION "LIVE FROM PHILLY, and THINGS ARE GONNA GET BETTER to release the long-awaited THE NEXT CHAPTER in 2019. With THE NEXT CHAPTER, ZW1A take listeners down memory lane with a Traditional Gospel medley, “Mommy's Medley," and offer Contemporary Praise with "Unpredictable God," featuring David Willford and the late Thomas "TC" Clay is one of several radio hits and fan favorites on the album.
In 2021, ZW1A released another hit radio single “Jehovah Jireh,” written by iconic Philadelphia songwriter and musician Kevin Pringle.
“Jehovah Jireh” rose to #1 on Billboard/BDS Gospel Indicator Radio Chart and #18 on Billboard/BDS Gospel Airplay Chart.
ZW1A stepped on stage again for their fourth live album recording REVISITED, to release in the Spring of 2023. ZW1A collaborated with Stellar Award-winning vocalist Lowell Pye on the first single from the album "Jesus I'll Never Forget."
