ZALIBAR

Zalibar are lifelong best friends Chris Chapman and Nils Lavik, who grew up across the street from each other in Torrance, Southern California.

At age fifteen, Chris and Nils purchased their first guitars, and started to practice The Beatles and Led Zeppelin tunes.

As High School Seniors at West High, Class of '84, the duo successfully auditioned and were selected to perform locally and on the road with the school's esteemed choir 'The Aristocracy.'
Lead Vocalist Chris chose Bass, while Nils found his voice as a Tenor. 

Post-graduation, Chris and Nils wrote and recorded many original songs, and each compiled their own favorites onto two ninety-minute cassettes--'Best Hits' and 'The Yellow Album.'

The group released six more albums between 1985 and 1988:
'Rabilaz'
'Cutting Apples'
'Words of Truth'
'Renaissance’
'Dream Voyage'
and
'Evolution'

Chris and Nils created approximately fifty limited editions of each cassette, and shared Zalibar with their friends.

For the last thirty years, most of these cassettes have been sitting in storage, collecting dust and losing fidelity.
However, in 2021, new interest in the band led to the re-visiting of the Master Recordings, when Internationally-renowned DJ SNBRN (Ultra Records) re-discovered their songs, putting Zalibar on the musical map once again, literally decades later.

DJ SNBRN is releasing an updated version of "When We're Dreaming" on his next release. Zalibar's legacy continues.
