Zealot, real name "John Oluwasegun" was born in Ibadan Oyo State, where he grew up with his family.
He is the first of four children. He studied computer Science in Osun State College of Technology

Zealot began his music career Officially in early 2017. Zealot's first Official musical release was "Feeling"in July 2017

In 2017, Zealot released a single titled Underrate He went ahead to feature a multiple award winning Nigerian superstar Oritsefemi on the same song and released the remix on March 2018. The music video for the song Underrate was shot afterwards and directed by Dir K in late 2018.

In 4 February 2019 Zealot released a single [4] titled Calling Me

On 10 December 2019 Zealot released another single [7] Chacha
