Abramis Brama

Sweden’s <a href="spotify:artist:4u2FEVv8H4ElR9kHQcIoVz" data-name="Abramis Brama">Abramis Brama</a> (latin name for the bream fish) has since its formation in 1997 released seven albums with heavy, ecstatic, riff-oriented hard rock – sung in Swedish, which was an odd choice at the time. The band persevered and has – except for one album in English, ”<a href="spotify:album:4TeSFiGTTUYL3leDkaqDHH" data-name="Nothing Changes">Nothing Changes</a> ” (2003) – stayed true to its ideals and gained a worldwide following, despite the language barrier.

The original line-up of bassist/vocalist Dennis Berg, guitarist Peo Anderson, drummer Fredrik Jansson and original lead vocalist Christian Andersen made its album debut with ”<a href="spotify:album:7txzq9fd1R9wAadgGZDnlS" data-name="Dansa Tokjävelns Vals">Dansa Tokjävelns Vals</a>” (1999), after which new singer Ulf Torkelsson joined for ”<a href="spotify:album:5PWVW4kup9I2mGKx7pVBO0" data-name="När tystnaden lagt sig">När tystnaden lagt sig</a>” (2001). After the monumental ”<a href="spotify:album:57Ojlb7xJ5TbP5R2SAoJZC" data-name="Rubicon">Rubicon</a>” (2005), the band added second guitarist Robert Johansson (ex-<a href="spotify:artist:1Q005IkHPdjmgPHgFtthdv" data-name="Backdraft">Backdraft</a>) but soon drummer Fredrik Jansson left the band for <a href="spotify:artist:3HVmba1wHgrLVsVC5IIzkG" data-name="Witchcraft">Witchcraft</a> (now in <a href="spotify:artist:6L48AOtGmQL1ELLoKML7cS" data-name="Angel Witch">Angel Witch</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3Pm1tNCqx5rgIc4lz1yMqA" data-name="Lugnet">Lugnet</a>). His replacement Fredrik Liefvendahl (ex-<a href="spotify:artist:7GTkjp7qsfmx8iJzBUQLmN" data-name="Grand Magus">Grand Magus</a>) made his debut on ”<a href="spotify:album:3WykcjlN27Q1uLNoXahtRO" data-name="Live!">Live!</a>” (2007), followed by the next studio album ”<a href="spotify:album:6izdQo5eoQviFiF0XLv2Is" data-name="Smakar Söndag">Smakar Söndag</a>” (2009), which was nominated for a P3 Guld award in Sweden.

An appearance at the legendary German TV show Rockpalast in 2012 was one of founding member Dennis Berg&#39;s last, and he was replaced by bassist Mats Rydström (<a href="spotify:artist:1Q005IkHPdjmgPHgFtthdv" data-name="Backdraft">Backdraft</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2W5ONRbOs5vXUbedSWJQlA" data-name="Avatarium">Avatarium</a>) just in time for the sessions for the ”<a href="spotify:album:5THLhTRmva8tPVTqzaTToM" data-name="Enkel Biljett">Enkel Biljett</a>” album (2014). The band has since toured Sweden, including all the major hard rock festivals, before recording ”<a href="spotify:album:0PwONjMyBr2xb687yI8f7R" data-name="Tusen år">Tusen år</a>” – which was released on Black Lodge Records in April 2018.
