Achu is the grandson of music director B. A. Chidambaranath who is considered to be one among the pioneers of the Malayalam music industry. His father, C. Rajamani, was also a music director and was widely known as the king of background score . C.Rajamani has scored music close to 1000 films in Tamil, Hindi , Telugu, Kannada , Malayalam and various other languages . He is a graduate from Loyola College, Chennai . He’s learnt Carnatic , Hindustani and Western Music . He finished his Western music grades with Trinity College , London .
Hailing from a musical family, Achu's natural interest was to become an Indian Air Force ( I.A.F ) Combat Pilot. He chose Music over Aviation and became a full-fledged musician. He also assisted prominent music director M. M. Keeravani for many years, before he became an independent Music Composer.
