Albert Salt personifies eclecticism in music – seamlessly spanning genres and projects of distinct variation. His classical training and musical agility have seen him perform with the likes of Client Liaison, Kele, Boy & Bear, Lime Cordiale, Safia and Julia Stone.
Hailing from Hamilton, country Victoria, Salt gained attention in 2011 following the release of his debut record Dearest Stranger.
Lead single ‘Fear & Loathing’ garnered support from triple j Unearthed, where he became a 2011 Unearthed High finalist before earning a slot at Parklife Festival. He followed his debut with a succession of EPs before the release of his sophomore album ‘Wilson Street’ in 2015 and his 2017 single ‘Glass Plains’ which featured Alex Lahey on saxophone.
Despite music industry shutdowns in 2020, Salt remained busy scoring his first feature with the acclaimed composer Nicholas Buc for a new film 'Slant' and released his new solo EP ‘25 Not Doing Alright’ – his first major body of work in 5 years. In 2021, Salt followed the extended release with the Double J high rotation single ‘Think It’s Time To Get A Job’ and new track ‘Family Tree’.
The upcoming fourth EP, ‘We’re All Going To Be Alright’ adds to Albert’s growingly impressive catalogue of music, exploring a more guitar driven approach to his eclectic style of indie-pop. Being praised as “super accomplished, slick songwriting” by triple J, the next chapter for Albert Salt is proving to be arguably the most exciting.
