Los Angeles based musician Amber Coffman is probably best-known for her part in the alternative rock outfit <a href="spotify:artist:5VF0YkVLeVD4ytyiyVSIiF" data-name="Dirty Projectors">Dirty Projectors</a>, in which she sang and played guitar. Coffman initially started out as a member of the post-rock band <a href="spotify:artist:59fdviAuZluHCbp0zL58Iu" data-name="Sleeping People">Sleeping People</a> until 2007, when she moved to Brooklyn to become a full-time member of Dirty Projectors recording and touring on the “Rise Above” album. Coffman went on to be a key member of the band for 2009's “Bitte Orca,” 2011’s “Mount Wittenberg Orca” with <a href="spotify:artist:7w29UYBi0qsHi5RTcv3lmA" data-name="Björk">Björk</a>, and 2012's “Swing Lo Magellan,” utilizing intricate vocal parts and three-part harmonies that became an integral part of the band. Aside from the two bands, Coffman has taken part in a wide range of collaborations, including co-writing and performing on “Get Free” with <a href="spotify:artist:738wLrAtLtCtFOLvQBXOXp" data-name="Major Lazer">Major Lazer</a>, and many guest vocal appearances including “Hold On” from <a href="spotify:artist:4BTcOR2hEQZQQL5AMo5u10" data-name="Rusko">Rusko</a>, "She Knows" by <a href="spotify:artist:6l3HvQ5sa6mXTsMTB19rO5" data-name="J. Cole">J. Cole</a>, “Close Watch” from <a href="spotify:artist:5MWBg16f5UYiaSlyVhzlIW" data-name="John Cale">John Cale</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3ZXXJ9nO1Dn9B0AJ25eAQY" data-name="Hamilton Leithauser">Hamilton Leithauser</a>‘s “Black Hours,” and “<a href="spotify:track:19YKaevk2bce4odJkP5L22" data-name="Nikes">Nikes</a>” by <a href="spotify:artist:2h93pZq0e7k5yf4dywlkpM" data-name="Frank Ocean">Frank Ocean</a>. In 2017, Coffman made her solo debut with <a href="spotify:album:5QqpSLKGUiENAA99NeZ9xv" data-name="City of No Reply">City of No Reply</a>.
