Ande Estrella survived her own burning and lives to tell the tale...Filipina-American artist from the Bay Area with a theatre kid heart and rockstar wiring gives in to her soundscape: flowery folk melodies underlined by cinematic pop punk instrumentation warming by an emotional fire. Her songs are equal parts confession and seeking refuge. Inspired by vocalists like Willow Smith and Lea Salonga, raised on Sondheim and rock operas, Ande slowly leaks her childhood diary in tune.

She spent her childhood leading nearly twenty musical productions before even knowing what her own voice sounded like when no one was watching. The stage taught her who she was - praised for being pliable and complicit - unlearning her performative identity meant leaning into her secret songs and spreading the word. She couldn’t be easy to swallow anymore - and honestly, she hopes you choke on it a little.

Ande’s debut single “EXCUSES” cracked open a can of worms that extracted truths in her personal life and thrust her into an internet whirlwind of millions of streams and a cult of listeners who don’t flinch when it hurts.
She holds her inspirations close: Mitski, Regina Spektor, SZA, Ashnikko. She admires artists who turn confession into theatre and metaphor into a punchline. Ande dreams of a future where music and theatre seamlessly dissolve and the music business is a more creative, colorful, compassionate, queer-friendly, inclusive space that radically uplifts non-men in the room.
