A diarist at heart, Blossom writes to make sense of the world around her — documenting experiences rather than getting stuck in them. ‘Waxing Lyrical’ is a tongue-in-cheek reflection on over-analysing a relationship long after it’s ended, transforming heartbreak into something theatrical, witty and quietly cathartic. Speaking about the single, Blossom says:
“Waxing Lyrical got its name because I'm literally sick of talking about the situation, and the person I wrote it about loved the sound of their own voice - like actually wouldn’t stop.
"Imagine it’s summer, you’re in a hot, sticky flat and you’re getting to know someone and they’re driving you mad, but you can’t leave each other alone. I’m singing about that sort of chaos. It makes me laugh now, I love it.”
