Like many college bands, indie-rock group Seeing Double was formed on a whim. In the midst of the pandemic in 2021, frontwoman Allie Sandt and guitarist Michael Aaron were freshmen at a small upstate NY school, eager to find fellow musicians. Soon joined by vocalist Ali McQueeney and guitarist Zach Torncello, the group was playing covers until they found their identity in 70s-rock inspired debut release “Leah// Don’t Wait” in January of 2022.

The band’s breakout moment came after sharing videos titled “Brushing Our Teeth Until Our Song Goes Viral,” filmed in dorm bathrooms. The title became a self-fulfilling prophecy—within weeks, the band’s fanbase began to grow, and their touring schedule quickly followed, all while they balanced being full-time college students. In 2022, drummer Dylan Travison joined the lineup, solidifying the band’s core five-piece sound.

Subsequent singles, “Take It or Leave” and “Bygones” further showcased their genre-blending style. As they toured the Northeast and shared stages with HUNNY, Charlie Burg, and Brooke Alexx, the heart of the band remained in their high-energy live performances.

Though the band disbanded in October 2023, Seeing Double left behind their legacy as an exciting force in indie rock.
