For Monumental People': the name of the new record by Anna Rune. Best described as NeoRomantic Pop, the new songs turn a corner to a more fresh and impulsive vibe. With bouncing
basslines, driving rhythms and analog synths at the wheel, Anna's more lyrical and sometimes dark
way of songwriting receives a layer of hopeful perspective. It has to, since all of the songs are
dedicated to people who had a monumental impact on her life and her struggles with mental
health. With the album, Anna hopes to open conversations about vulnerability, self-love and total
destructive misery.
From may 2021 on, all songs will be released as singles, each one with a new piece of the full story.
The most important release is the one on the 1st of october, with the song 'The Secret', where she
uncovers all that is left to know. The song was also the inspiration for film director Rebecca
Weltner, who shot a video in the house of Wallpaper Magazine's Designer of the Year: Sabine
Marcelis. In the end the album will be released in february, followed by a Benelux tour in march
2022.
