Songwriter Helge Slikker graduated at the theatre-academy in Antwerp (Belgium) in 2000. Having spent his entire youth playing songs with family and friends he decided to dedicate his future to music. Helge toured all across Europe with several bands and projects, composed scores for theatrical plays and movies such as ‘They Have Escaped’, ‘Infiltrant’ and ‘Kauwboy’, for which he was awarded a ‘Gouden Kalf’ award, Dutch equivalent of the Oscar.
Early this year Helge performed in theatres throughout The Netherlands with his theatrical concert ‘As’. A story-driven show about the times he went to Iceland, with songs that will appear on his second solo album 'Polar'.
The album will be released on the 8th of November at Iceland Airwaves festival. 'Polar' was recorded in Mosfellsbær (Iceland) at Sundlaugin studio together with producer/drummer Dave Menkehorst, guitarist Örn Eldjárn and bass player Guðmundur Óskar Guðmundsson.
