B Young is a singer, rapper and songwriter hailing from an area called Hackney in East London. B Young spent several years self teaching his way around a studio, from learning to mix and master his own records to video editing. He was able to experiment with different sounds to craft his melodic rap and afrobeat/bashment crossover sounds.
 
In his teens and much like today, B Young split his musical tastes between his Caribbean friends’ Dancehall music and his friends of African heritage Afrobeats/Afrowave tastes. 2017 saw B Young’s explosive run with tracks Cash Flow, Wanna Know (Remix), London Boy, Been Wavey and Jumanji, which became the hit that would dominate the Official Charts, spending over 8 weeks in the top 20. With a back to back style approach B Young responded with his 079Me track also making it’s successful way straight to the charts.
 
Since then, B Young has still stuck to his DIY methods and continues to record, mix and edit his own videos in his bedroom studio. Through his own label, he has released singles such as Gucci Demon, Wine and Want2 which have accumulated over 30 million streams and views in the space of a year. B Young has performed in over 400 shows during his career so far and has also amassed over 2 million single sales and over 300 million accumulated streams and views. Letting the music speak first, B Young has quickly become known for his unforgettable hooks, melodies and for his ‘quality over quantity approach’.
