Comprised of three Danish alternative music stars, Balstyrko took their eclectic and tuneful debut album, Jagten Paa Noget, into the Top Ten in 2009. The trio took their time to deliver another record -- the single "Boegereden" appeared in 2019 -- but they maintained a presence in Denmark in the ensuing years thanks to festival appearances, radio play, and music licensing.
Formed in 2007, the trio is comprised of vocalist Blæs Bukki (born Lasse Bavngaard), a member of the groups Den Gale Pose, Malk de Koijn, and Bikstok Røgsystem; vocalist Ane Trolle, a member of the groups JaConfetti and Trolle//Siebenhaar, and an affiliate of producer Trentemøller; and producer Ormen (born Anders Christophersen), a member of the electro duo Melk. Balstyrko made their album debut in 2009 with Jagten Paa Noget. The set reached the Top Ten of the Danish albums chart and spawned the Top 20 hit single "Intet Stopper Helt."
