Founded in 1946, the Bamberg Symphony is one of the finest orchestras in the world, with its legendary “Bamberg Sound”. The orchestra is the cultural ambassador for Bavaria, regularly travelling and giving concerts across the globe. It also hosts the internationally renowned conducting competition, “The Mahler Competition”, which was won in its inaugural year by Gustavo Dudamel. Since September 2016 Jakub Hrůša has been their fifth Chief Conductor, shaping the very unique profile of this outstanding orchestra.
