Exploring the world with the toolkit of jazz, five-piece Black Flower crafts out a serpentine mélange from a wide range of genres and traditions. Rolling drums, shepherd’s flutes, psychedelic sequences, breathy melodies and blurred arrangements come together in a vibrant and exhilarating blend.

Ethio-jazz was at the base in 2014 with their debut album ‘Abyssinia Afterlife’ (Zephyrus Records) earning praise from Gilles Peterson and LeFtO who selected the track ‘Winter’ and ‘Again I Lost It’, the latter being played by DJ’s all over the world.

Since then, the band is constantly exploring new sounds and pushing boundaries, honing their craft toward an unparalleled style, earning invitations at numerous international showcases, opportunities to tour worldwide and a record deal with Sdban Ultra Records.

Black Flower's sixth full album 'Kinetic' released in January 2025 (Sdban Ultra Records) and is a bold exploration of liberation through movement.
